Health

It is widely recognised that individuals with learning disabilities and autism experience many health inequalities when compared with the general population – we want to do whatever we can to change this and help our service users lead happy, healthy and fulfilled lives.

Whilst we understand that everyone is entitled to make their own choices, HS4L encourages healthy lifestyle choices and offers sessions that help our service users make informed decisions about their health including opportunities to improve physical health through activities such as attending a swimming or gym programme.

We also realise the effects that the pandemic has had on people’s mental health and have courses that are designed to help reduce stress and anxiety.

Our gym services

Our aim is to help individuals develop confidence using gym equipment and doing fitness activities so they can access mainstream community services independently if they wish.

All our fitness services are delivered by qualified professionals, with dedicated support and coaching.

We’re currently running sessions at Beckwith Health Club, where you are able to use a range of equipment including treadmills, bikes, rowers and weights to help improve your fitness.

If you would like to find out more about these fitness sessions, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01423 593719 and ask to speak to Judith.
