A Wonderful Day at the Seaside – Bridlington 2026

10 July 2026

On Wednesday 1 July, our Day Centre learners and Skills Bridge students enjoyed our much-anticipated annual seaside trip, this year visiting the beautiful coastal town of Bridlington.

We couldn't have asked for better weather. The day was filled with glorious blue skies and warm sunshine, but thankfully without the extreme heatwave temperatures, making it perfect for exploring everything Bridlington has to offer.

Our learners spent the day wandering around the bustling town centre, taking in the sights along the promenade, and enjoying the fresh sea air on the beach. No seaside visit would be complete without a little shopping, and the traditional sweet shop proved to be a firm favourite, with plenty of treats to take home.

While our Skills Bridge students spent their day partaking in the typical seaside activities including going to the arcades, walking along the beach and one student even went water zorbing which they thoroughly enjoyed!

Of course, a trip to the coast isn't complete without fish and chips! With Bridlington's many excellent fish and chip shops to choose from, everyone was able to enjoy this classic seaside tradition.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Yorkshire Pullman, whose accessible coaches ensured that all of our learners, including those with reduced mobility and wheelchair users, could travel comfortably and enjoy the day with ease. Their excellent service helped make the trip smooth, stress-free and inclusive for everyone.

The smiles, laughter and wonderful memories made throughout the day reminded us why this annual trip is such a highlight of our calendar. It was fantastic to see everyone relaxing, socialising and making the most of a well-deserved day by the sea.

We are already looking forward to next year's adventure! Please have a look through some of our photos from the day.
