As the days grow longer and the flowers are in bloom, spring has brought a wonderful burst of energy and excitement to everyone at Harrogate Skills for Living Day Centre.
Over the past few weeks, our day centre learners have been enjoying a wide range of seasonal activities designed to encourage creativity and confidence with plenty of laughter along the way.
From colourful spring crafts to gardening activities and scenic walks, there has been something for everyone to enjoy. Our craft sessions have been especially popular, with members creating beautiful handmade collages, blossom inspired artwork, and cheerful handmade decorations in our pottery sessions.
The arrival of warmer weather has also meant more opportunities to spend time outdoors. Learners have enjoyed getting involved in planting seeds, tidying beds, and soaking up the sunshine (sometimes) or dodging the spring rainfall together at the Harrogate Skills for Living allotment. These activities not only help everyone stay active but also create a real sense of achievement and teamwork. Our Out and About group have enjoyed some lovely days out including days out to Knaresborough, Yeadon Tarn, Coldstone Cut, Hookstone Woods and of course a few visits to the beautiful blossom walkway on The Stray.
Learners have also been busy in our gym and fitness sessions whilst our cooking and baking groups have been filling the day centre with delicious aromas from the skills kitchen. Don't forget out latest recipes for our together we cook community are now live on our website; you can find them here.
