We reopened some of our day centre activites from the 6th July and we are all so glad to be back!
With reopening we have had to put some new processes into place - these are nothing to worry about and are just to make sure we are doing our part in keeping day centre service users and our staff safe. This includes having your temperature checked on arrival, regular washing and sanitizing of your hands, sitting at an allocated desk to help maintain social distancing and using your own drinks flask from home. Day centre staff will be wearing PPE and regularly cleaning areas used. They are still the same fun and super friendly tutors you all know they just might look that little different wearing their PPE. You can see a full copy of all our new procedures from day centre manager, Judith.
We aren't running our full timetable but we have started back with baking and cooking sessions, arts and crafts, dance and drama, the allotments group and our well known music sessions.
Our day centre manager Judith said:
"Today sees the start of the fourth week of the ‘new normal’. It’s been wonderful to welcome clients and staff back to HS4LC, to hear their lockdown stories and see they are safe and well. At the same time we know from the conversations we have been having that some clients are not ready to come back or their families, carers or home managers feel it is too soon. We understand that the transition from lockdown to the ‘new normal’ is difficult, but we hope that it won’t be too long before everyone can meet again.
We have put lots of measures in place to keep people safe whilst they’re at HS4LC including regular cleaning, hand washing, hand sanitizing and social distancing and we would like to say a big thank you to the clients and staff for following the new rules.
We are also starting to look ahead to the new academic year. Whilst our new prospectus won’t be too different from this year’s, we would like to include some new courses would welcome everyone’s suggestions about what these should be."
We wanted to share a few photos with you that have been taken since reopening.
You can keep up to date with all our news and photos on our blog and social media accounts.
We hope that everyone is staying safe and we can't wait to welcome more service users back to the day centre.
