Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we are all staying home to stay safe. This also led to the HS4LC Day Centre been temporarily closed, so learners are unable to participate in their normal everyday activities and classes. Thanks to the wonders of technology we have been able to run music sessions for residents at Brackenley via zoom.
The sessions were greatly enjoyed - Dianne and Chrissie enjoyed dancing and getting involved while Peter just sat and watched for a little while before joining in. Pippa was dancing and playing maracas while staff members Nicole, Saffron, Heather and Olivia were on hand to assist residents with instruments and dancing duties.
Sessions have run every Tuesday morning whilst in lockdown and will also be ran for our Briardene Care Home on Fridays.
Chris the HS4LC tutor running the Zoom sessions said "I think the sessions are important to help keep client and staff morale up, I know I have a lot of fun doing them and the clients get to see some familiar faces as well. Fingers crossed we will all be together again soon at the centre. Stay safe!"
We have also been running some sessions via Zoom with tutor Gillian from the HS4LC day centre. Residents have been having catch up sessions and doing activities such a writing a letter to family.
As you can tell by the fabulous smiles in the photos - everyone has enjoyed the online sessions.
