We are very excited to announce that Harrogate Skills for Living Centre's Routes to Employment interns are taking over The Bridge Coffee Bar in Knaresborough every Monday!
We are really excited to be working with the staff and volunteers at The Bridge Coffee Bar located at the Centre on Gracious Street (COGS) in Knaresborough.
Interns had a fantastic day on Monday, hosting their first pop up cafe, they were front of house taking orders, making drinks and serving customers as well as in the kitchen preparing freshly baked scones and following specially created visual recipes to make the soup of the day.
The interns will be running the cafe every Monday serving food and hot drinks from 10am - 2pm. This new venture for HS4LC will give our intern's a great opportunity to build on the work skills they have been developing at external work placements.
The atmosphere was fantastic on Monday and it was busier than we could have hoped so a huge thank you to all of those who came to the cafe. Feedback from customers was really positive, the cream of parsnip soup was a hit among all who had it and the scones were described by one customer as 'so fresh, it is possibly the best scone I've ever had!' the service from the interns was also highly praised too.
Below are a few photos from our first day at the cafe:
We hope that you can come down one Monday for a lovely fresh lunch or even a cup of tea and cake to show us your support.
